“We cannot always trace God’s hand, but we can always trust God’s heart.”

Charles Spurgeon

But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.”

Psalm 13:5-6

“God has a purpose behind every problem. He uses circumstances to develop our character. In fact, he depends more on circumstances to make us like Jesus than he depends on our reading the Bible.”

Rick Warren

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

James 1:2-4

Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”

2 Peter 1:2

Question To Ponder: Would you agree that learning more about God (His Word, His character and His Ways) leads to a more peaceful life?

In my life, I’ve seen a direct link between being teachable and being blessed. God’s presence gives me grace for living each day well, and peace for the journey.

Today’s Worship Walk: Micah 6:8

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.”

Micah 6-8

I often make things too complicated, overthinking situations or plans. That’s why I appreciate Scripture passages like this: they remind me that many of God’s truths are rather simple. Here, a list of three ways we can please God by how we live.  They may be challenging, but they aren’t hard to understand!

Today’s Worship Walk: Psalm 26:2

Test me, Lord, and try me,
examine my heart and my mind…”

Psalm 26:2

The idea that God knows my every thought and sees my heart used to make me nervous. I finally learned, though, that He isn’t going to use what He finds to condemn or punish me, but to gently teach me more about His Ways. Now, praying for God to examine me brings anticipation. I want to see what my Heavenly Father has to show me!

Today’s Worship Walk: Galatians 1:7-8

Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! “

Galatians 1:7-8

It doesn’t take much to mishandle the Word of God. Many times it’s “innocent”: the small misquote of a passage, or putting just a little personal spin on a message God has revealed to us. Other times, a person will misuse a verse or give an incorrect interpretation of it to try and prove their own point. Either way, God is grieved when it happens. We need to stay accountable for treating His Word with the respect it deserves.

Christian Quotes: Chuck Swindoll

“We cannot change our past. We can not change the fact that people act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.”

Chuck Swindoll
Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world…”
Philippians 2:14-15
