It’s been said that we are meant to be more like a running stream of water than a stagnant pond. In other words, we are to be channels, first taking in God’s love and then sending it out into the world. But in our busyness, it can be easy to skip over the receiving part, can’t it?
To be effective in ministry, we must allow God in to minister to us. We have to join Him in that work, too, by making healthy choices that will keep us strong and ready to help fulfill His plans. And He’ll continue to fill us up!
“Pay mind to your own life, your own health, and wholeness. A bleeding heart is of no help to anyone if it bleeds to death.”
“The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.”
