I want to be known as someone who loves worshipping God. The more I learn about Him, the bigger He becomes (and the smaller I become). I write to puzzle out, to process, and to praise as I try to live worshipfully each day.
“A man is truly ethical only when he obeys the compulsion to help all life which he is able to assist, and shrinks from injuring anything that lives.”
“Trust in the Lord and do good…”
“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
“God made the world from nothing, and if we can be nothing, God can make something of us.”
Martin Luther King Jr.
“All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’ Humble yourselves, therefore, under God‘s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.“
”Oh my God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest. Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises. In you are ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.”

Think of a time you felt jealousy. How would you describe the feeling?
2. Has jealousy ever led you to say or do something you’ve regretted?
3. Being closely connected to God offers us a way to let go of negative jealousy. Psalm 143:8-9 says this:
“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you.”
Take a moment to consider the three actions the Psalmist writes about. Honestly answer for yourself:
Am I putting my faith in God to know what I truly need and to provide it?
Am I seeking God’s guiding of my steps and my desires each day?
Am I running to Him when I feel envy or am tempted to compare?
“The Lord Jesus Christ is in a class all by Himself; there are no competitors, no rivals; He is unique. He is Lord of all. He is King of kings, Lord of lords, the image of the invisible God. He is Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Preeminent One.”
“Then He placed his right hand on me and said: ‘I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.’ “
“God is alpha and omega in the great world: endeavor to make him so in the little world; make him thy evening epilogue and thy morning prologue; practice to make him thy last thought at night when thou sleepest, and thy first thought in the morning when thou awakest; so shall thy fancy be sanctified in the night, and thy understanding rectified in the day; so shall thy rest be peaceful, thy labors prosperous, thy life pious, and thy death glorious.”
”Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord…But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the Lord!”
“My worth is what I am worth to God; and that is a marvelous great deal, for Christ died for me. Thus, incidentally, what gives to each of us His highest worth gives the same worth to everyone; in all that matters most are we equal.”
“Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is the Maker of them all.”
“One who has been touched by grace will no longer look on those who stray as ‘those evil people’ or ‘those poor people who need our help.’ Nor must we search for signs of ‘loveworthiness.’ Grace teaches us that God loves because of who God is, not because of who we are.”
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”
